Hey, everyone!
So I’ve been working my butt off at practically everything but writing this last week. I haven’t been experiencing writer’s block per say, it’s more that I haven’t been able to find the right words and I wasn’t sure where I was going with the scene. So my writing was sluggish and clunky (editing will be a nightmare I’m sure). Thankfully I pushed through, kept revisiting the scene in my mind and happily this morning the words came to me and my scene fell into place. Scenes seven chapters from now fell into place. It is always an exciting moment when you manage to persevere with a scene and it all comes together perfectly!
Writing is hard. Writing an entire book is harder. Editing that book is even harder. But, and this is a BIG but. IT IS ALL WORTH IT! Yup, you heard me. This whole thing is one big job broken down into little itty bitty tasks that will eventually bring you untold amounts of joy. If you’re like me, you will take a look at your WIP and see work more than half of the time. If you’re also like me, you may want to shy away from that. I swear sometimes I am allergic to work. And that’s okay. This last weekend I didn’t open my WIP once. Today I managed to write the scene I needed, along with another and finish the chapter. You don’t need to have the words in front of you to be writing, sometimes all you need is your brain and the thought: what if.
Just a short post this morning reminding you all to push through, keep writing and I promise you, it will click! It WILL all come together for you! Just. Keep. Swi– Writing =D
Good luck to all you writers out there!
