Absolutely friggen insane. You know what? No, I’m absolutely F*CKING insane!
So insane, in fact, that I have agreed to take part in something called “12 weeks to a trilogy.” What this means, is I will endeavour to write between 175,000 and 244,400 words in the next 12 weeks. What this will translate to, is at the end of this project I will have the first draft completed of books 2 and 3, the final draft of hybrid and a completed reader magnet. I know, insane right. What this breaks down to, is that in August I will do as much of my plotting as I can, then in September, I will be starting for real. I’ll be writing my reader magnet in September as well, I hope that will end up between 10,000 to 20,000 words. I will also be finishing off that final draft of Hybrid, which I think is around 30,000 words. Also in September, I will be beginning the first draft of Broken, which I expect to maybe get 30,000 words into.
In October I hope to finish off that first draft of broken, then begin the first draft of the third novel. (Which I am affectionately calling risen).
In November I hope to have the reader magnet completed including edits. I will also be finishing off the first draft of risen which I expect to come out around 60,000 to 80,000 words.
Throughout all of this, I will also be continuing with my study, writing assignments, working as much as I can, keeping up with the blog – which will likely be updates on how ongoing with this project, and working on something very exciting that I will be announcing in the next two weeks.
I told you, I’m insane! I know I don’t have a sh*t show of actually completing the challenge, I am a chronic procrastinator, a massive underwriter, and quite a slow writer in regard to plotting and world building. However I have my awesome dictation, I have determination, and I have accountability. Some awesome people on Facebook, part of one of the groups that I’m in, has splintered off and now we are working on this challenge together. Everyone is being held accountable for their goals, and am hoping that will be incentive enough to keep me on track and completing everything I need to complete.
One thing I will say though, this writing challenge will not interfere with the necessities of my life, that means my study takes priority over my writing at this point, it also means that if I need to work, I will go to work and do my writing in my spare time. This will make it a lot harder for me, but will also be more realistic if anyone wants to try in the future.
That’s all for this quick little update, I will keep you posted.
As always, go write something.

Wow, you really are insane! I think this is a wonderful goal, just make sure you don’t kill yourself achieving it.
It is my utmost priority not to kill myself competing in this challenge. Like I said, life comes first and I think that is crucial when attempting something like this. Wanna join? 😛
